Swindon Strategic Economic Partnership (SSEP) announce change in Chairperson
The Board of Swindon Strategic Economic Partnership (SSEP) has accepted the resignation today of local businessman Rikki Hunt, as Chairman of the group and made the following statement:
“Rikki has worked tirelessly on a voluntary basis for the SSEP for a number of years and the board is extremely grateful for his valuable contribution which has helped promote business growth in Swindon. His energy, enthusiasm and commitment will all be missed. But we agree with Rikki that his personal circumstances mean it is not now appropriate for him to remain in that role.”
The SSEP board have asked Nicky Alberry, Chair of GWE Business West, to become the chair on an interim basis and we thank Nicky for accepting the position temporarily until we select a new Chair. She added to the statement,
“Now that the Wiltshire and Swindon Local Enterprise Partnership has been approved we are entering a particularly busy period, so we need to focus on establishing that partnership. We will be appointing a new Chair this autumn and are confident that the SSEP can continue to drive business interests in the town.”
The SSEP represents business interests in Swindon and ensures that these are presented to the Council and other public sector bodies. SSEP contributed significantly to the development of the newly approved Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) proposals.
Updates on SSEP will be posted here. For additional information please contact Ian Piper, at ianpiper@forwardswindon.co.uk
