Third Age logo

Third Age Challenge Ltd (TAC) is a not-for-profit organisation, set up in 1993, whose primary mission is to help older people to maintain a fulfilling life mission. During its lifetime, TAC has been supported by the DfEE, European Social Fund and European Directorates in addition to local authorities, the Training and Enterprise Council, and the Learning and Skills Council.

Charity bodies such as the Carnegie and Dulverton Trusts and Help the Aged have supported our activities, while corporate sponsors of TAC Ltd have included Marks & Spencer and the Nationwide Building Society.

TAC offers a variety of in-house services, such as:

  • One-to-one information, advice and guidance on job search and career change
  • A menu of training courses including 'dealing with change' and 'interview skills'
  • Basic and CLAIT 1 ICT courses
  • A resource centre comprising literature and information on job search and employment issues, with access to computers, fax and telephones
  • Volunteering opportunities
