Swindon Borough Council has a duty of care to monitor its performance under Best Value. Suppliers and Contractors are monitored to assess their compliance against the pre-determined performance criteria set out in the contract documentation. The Council is continuously striving to improve its performance and expects its Contractors to do the same.
The Council has dedicated Contract Management officers to provide a client interface for support services that are currently outsourced (i.e. ICT and Revenues and Benefits services).
Contract management officers are responsible for contract monitoring and performance reporting, operating the terms and conditions of contract in the event of service breach and, where appropriate, to support audit inspections.
